Something light… moving house

Happy Feast Day of Pentecost to those who follow the Roman liturgical calendar. It’s Sunday so it’s time for something light…

For the past few weeks I’ve been preparing to move. Part of this preparation involved repainting my new bedroom. I’ve painted before, but not for years. It was good fun, but more of a process than I remembered: sand the walls by hand, wipe clean, dry.

Then the painting itself: “Cut in” the edges, wait 1 hour to dry, paint the walls, wait 2 hours to dry. Repeat.

My lovely sister came by to help me apply the undercoat and it was jolly but tiring. Next came the top coat and I was very pleased by the result!

The garish orange is now a beautiful natural white.

Now to move in the furniture and decorate.

I’m thinking ‘French provincial’.

Before

After
